Senator Dodd Urges Action on Commercial Real Estate
U.S Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd asked regulators on Monday for a report on efforts to stabilize the commercial real estate sector. He further asked regulators to “redouble efforts to provide appropriate oversight” of the sector of the economy. Senator Dodd noted that Fed examiners at the U.S. central bank reported a “sharp deterioration” in commercial real estate loan quality.
